We’re seeking a highly motivated Procurement and Stores Officer, Build your career while making a meaningful impact in a community-focused workplace.

Your opportunity

As our Procurement and Stores Officer at Quilpie Shire Council, you will support procurement activities, stores operations and the delivery of essential resources across the organisation.

Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, you will contribute to the efficient and cost-effective operation of Council’s store and procurement functions including sourcing, purchasing, storage, handling and dispensing of stores and materials.

With integrity and pride, you will: 

  • Provide administrative support to the procurement team
  • Assist with Vendor Panel management
  • Assist with maintaining Council’s contract register
  • Assist with purchasing and ordering of supplies
  • Liaise with suppliers, stocktaking, catalogue materials 

What you'll bring 

You’ll bring organisation and a proactive approach to sourcing and inventory management. With a sharp eye for detail and a strong commitment to keeping Council operations running smoothly. To thrive in this role, you will have: 

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in using the MS suite, maintaining records
  • Understanding principles relating to Supply Chain Planning, Stock Control, Warehousing, Inventory Management and Logistic operations  
  • Forklift Licence (or ability to obtain)

Although it’s not essential, it would be great if you had:

  • Exposure to administrative processes within Local Government Authority
  • Knowledge of Council Purchasing Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of Council PCS Finance system and InfoXpert record management system
  • Experience as a store person within warehouse environment
